Who’s your favorite Disney character?

We are all about everything Disney in this house. From the older girls’ obsessions with the Disney Princesses to our toddler’s current love of ‘Mickey House’ (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) and ‘TiggerPooh’ (My Friends Tigger and Pooh), there’s pretty much not a show or movie from Disney that we’re not extremely familiar with.

Here are our favorite characters, starting right up at the top with…

  1. pooh-rumbly-2006 Winnie The Pooh – Our oldest daughter’s nursery was done in Pooh, and we still have a such a love of that silly, old bear.
  2. tigger Tigger – Can’t forget Pooh’s bouncy friend!
  3. Ariel – Both of my oldest daughters absolutely love 300px-Ariel_mermaidher – she’s their favorite of all the princesses. And our 5-year-old was Ariel for Halloween last year.
  4. adg637 Cinderella – Keeping on with the Princess theme (expect the next several in this list to do so as well), we’ve also sleeping-beauty-1had quite a love of this blue-clad princess.
  5. Sleeping Beauty – For a long time, the older girls’ favorites were  Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella – before everythng Ariel took over their top spot.  :)
  6. tinkerbell-pixie-1 Tinkerbell – I see that she’s about to have her very first feature film and it’s about time. We’ve had a Tinkerbell-themed birthday party as well as a little girl who insisted on dressing in her Tinkerbell wings almost every day for a while there.
  7. Aristocat-Marie1 Marie – This little white kitten stole our oldest daughter’s heart the very first time she watched the Aristocats – which was dubbed the ‘Kitty Movie’ here in our house. Both of the older girls have stuffed Marie cats that they cherish even now.
  8. 626-Stitch Stitch – Oddly enough, my oldest daughter is not a fan of Lilo and Stitch at all. But, this odd little alien is my husband’s favorite Disney character, so he definitely deserves a place near the top of this list.
  9. Eeyore Eeyore – Now who doesn’t love that grumpy, ‘glass is half empty’ donkey who hangs out in the Hundred Acre Wood with Pooh and friends…
  10. 344px-Mickey_Mouse.svg Mickey Mouse – Along with Pooh, one of our toddler’s current favorites. She gets so excited every time she sees a picture of ‘Mickey House’ when we’re out and about.
  11. minnie-mouse Minnie Mouse – You just can’t have a Mickey on a list without Minnie. Besides, our toddler is going to be Minnie this year for Halloween.  :)
  12. 0638-snow-white Snow White – Yet another princess who we’ve had a little girl dressed up as for Halloween in the past.
  13. images Baloo – The Jungle  Book is an often-watched movie around here, and everyone agrees on who their favorite character in it is.
  14. Dumbo1 Dumbo – I still get so sad at the scene in this movie where Dumbo’s mother is locked away from him… My girls absolutely love this movie and have watched it over and over. And over.
  15. roo-lumpy-heffalump-cookie Lumpy – A Heffalump with an English accent – what’s not to love! One of our oldest daughter’s most treasured stuffed animals is her ‘Lumpy’.

So given that this is a pretty eclectic list, with princesses, Playhouse Disney characters, as well as a couple that are really only seen in their feature films – you would think that it would be difficult to find an activity that incorporated pretty much every Disney character that you can think of, right?

Last Christmas, my girls received a copy of the Disney Bingo game. And they absolutely love playing it. Not only do they know, and can recognize by sight, just about every character shown in the game (especially those on the list above!), but they have such a blast seeing the little cartoon vignettes shown throughout the game and filling their bingo boards trying to be the first to yell ‘Bingo!’ at the top of their lungs.

I like that the game incorporates the television in a way that’s not involving their simply watching the screen – the interactive nature of the game between what’s happening on the DVD and what’s happening in ‘real life’ on the bingo boards makes this game a lot of fun – and a learning experience as well, while kids learn to recognize the letters and numbers used on the bingo squares.

If you’re interested in this fun, family-oriented game, you can find it either on Amazon.com or Drugstore.com!

So, how did we do on our list of favorite Disney characters? Are your 5 favorites on the list?  :)
