“Living the Dream” – aren’t we all? 
Plus it helps to be able to do so with a sense of humor, and if you can in a cute t-shirt too, well that’s even better. The tagline for LTDChix says it all, I think – “Fun Apparel for On-the-Go Moms with a Sense of Humor”. Because there are some days when you just have to sit back and laugh at the insanity of it all.
Which is why two former corporate moms created the slightly frazzled, a bit overwhelmed, but always smiling mom character that adorns all of the t-shirts found at LTDChix.com.
What they are:
LTDChix offers t-shirts (and now notecards as well!) featuring their ‘signature mom’ who can be found in all kinds of typical situations, from doing laundry, to acting as referee or driving off in her minivan. Each cartoon is drawn by the same artist, and reflects the ‘Living the Dream’ theme, that is best explained in their own words:
Back in the days when being a Mom was still just a dream for many of us, little did we know about the true realities of motherhood. We didn’t know that along with the beauty and rewards of watching our children grow, we’d also have to contend with the daily mind-numbing tasks that go along with it! But we’ve got to keep on smiling and persevere!
I recently had the opportunity to check out LTDChix and was sent a shirt to review, featuring the “Cleaning Mom” graphic.
Here’s my take on them:
I love the simple black-and-white drawings that the cartoons are drawn in. And I think that they do such a great job of showcasing exactly how I feel on some days, and I’m sure pretty much every other mom does as well. Whether we’re acting as a ‘referee’, chasing our kids around the grocery store, trying to keep up with the never-ending household tasks, working outside the home, or making the holidays as fun as possible for our kids, being able to laugh at ourselves is so important in being able to stay sane and get through the day/week/month/year. 
The actual shirt is made from sturdy cotton and comes in a variety of colors and styles, including tanks, and short or long-sleeved t-shirts (either loose-fitting or more fitted tees). The shirt I reviewed is a loose-fitting tee in blue, XL size. I think it’s extremely comfortable, but without being baggy or misshapen in any way. The shirt washes well too, and the graphic hasn’t faded or worn at all. I haven’t put it in the dryer – but that’s my standard rule when washing t-shirts in general.
I love having a shirt that’s not just a standard, plain color – but isn’t overwhelming with graphics either. I’ve gotten several comments on it so far, of the “oh, that’s so true!” variety. It’s quickly become one of my favorite and most-worn shirts.
The bottom line:
LTDChix tees are a great way to remember to always keep a sense of humor and be able to poke fun at the joys of motherhood. Because even though it is the most rewarding experience imaginable, there are those moments when you just have to step back and laugh at yourself. And what better way to do so than to sport a cute t-shirt!
