It’s been a mis-matched week here, for sure!

I had to laugh when I read the topic for this week’s Parent Bloggers Network’s Blog Blast – about mis-matched clothing combos. With three little girls in the house – plus a style and color challenged husband – we certainly end up with some well, interesting, looks to say the least.
Just so far this week, we’ve had my 5-year-old attempt to pair a red shirt with pink capri pants – and when I told her that she needed to change either her shirt or her pants, she simply replaced one pair of pink pants with another.
Sigh.
Oh yes, and then there was this morning when my oldest (apparently excited about all of the fall and winter clothes that have been added to her dresser drawers lately) appeared in a long-sleeved shirt and corduroy pants.
Did I mention that it’s supposed to be 82 degrees out today?
Getting her to change into clothes that were much more appropriate for the weather was definitely a challenge that involved a lot of tears and some yelling. I’ll let you guess which of us had the tears and which did the yelling…
Now I don’t have a trouble with my girls being creative and expressing themselves – but I do try to at least have them wear clothes that won’t give them heatstroke.
I think the most creative outfit lately happened to be one that I have to take the credit for though. I was in the process of putting pajamas on our 2-year-old one evening, and got as far as the pink-and-white striped bottoms before I realized that we had some issues going on in her pajama bin and nothing else there was wearable – including the matching pajama shirt. In fact, I ended up not being able to use any of the clothes from her bins that night (long story!), so couldn’t just stick a t-shirt on her either. The only clothes that were available were the ones hanging in her closet.
So she slept that night in her pink-and-white pajama pants, with a blue and white flowered sundress over them.
I can only be glad that she didn’t have to be seen in public.
Then again, with a blogger as a mother – it was inevitable that pictures would be taken…
At least she didn’t seem to have a problem with this look!

When I see a child dressed in a summer theme up top (sleeveless shirt) and a winter theme on the bottom (snow boots anyone?) I know she’s dressed herself. I call them tantrum outfits.
