“Wash Them Grow” with Suave Kids!

When my girls were babies, I went through the whole pile of baby washes and lotions that I received from baby showers and which lasted well into my oldest daughter’s first year of life. And after having a second baby, it just seemed easiest to keep using the ‘baby’ wash for them both, even as my oldest grew out of ‘babyhood’. In fact, it wasn’t until a few years ago, when I was at the store one day to purchase more baby wash and realized that although I did still have a baby in the house, by no means could either of my older girls be considered a baby still. And that maybe their soap and body wash needs had changed just a wee little bit. Since then I’ve gone through a few different types of body washes – trying to stay away from those that are either heavily perfumed and/or expensive (they are kids after all, and teaching them to use just ‘a little’ body wash is a huge struggle) and find something that works well for cleaning while being light on the pocketbook. And even though none of my girls appear to have inherited my allergy issues when it comes to fragrances and dyes in personal care and laundry products, I’ve always tried to use products that are free of perfumes and dyes for them. But that’s been hard to find once you ‘graduate’ out of the baby care products. Thankfully, a few months ago, I found Suave Kids’ ‘Free and Gentle’ body wash – and we’ve been using it ever since.
Updated Note: Even the Free and Gentle body wash isn’t completely fragrance-free – ‘fragrance’ is listed as an ingredient. However, in my personal opinion it’s not enough of a scent to bother my nose, and so far the body wash hasn’t irritated my kids’ skin at all. Please check the ingredient list of this (and other) products in order to make an informed decision for your own family.

There are several different varieties of Suave Kids body washes and we were thrilled to receive a package of them from MomSelect to try out. Along with the Free and Gentle that we have been using anyway, we also received a bottle of the Strawberry, Berry and Moisturizing body washes and I’m looking forward to trying them out with my girls. My oldest is especially excited to use the Strawberry-scented body wash! Each variety is not only gentle on their skin, but tear-free as well – so I’m confident that I won’t have to worry about having any trouble with the scents.
Here’s a chance to win fun prizes with Suave Kids!
Suave Kids is offering some awesome prizes right now through their “Wash Them Grow” Sweepstakes! One Grand Prize winner will receive an 8-day/7-night trip for four to Orlando, Florida and there are 5 weekly prizes awarded as well – a family e-Keepsake Kit, which includes: a laptop, a mini digital camcorder and a Digital Camera. Wow! All you have to do to enter is to visit the contest site and answer a fun daily trivia question. Every correct answer gives you an entry into the weekly drawings, as well as into the Grand Prize drawing – and you can learn important information to help your kids grow too.
On the Sweepstakes site you can also view lots of fun and useful tips from other parents about how they make bath time a better experience for them and their kids – and you can submit your own tips as well. Check back later to see if your tip is listed on the site! The tip that I added is about how I use our Suave Kids body wash to make a foaming wash for the girls to use in the bath and shower – just add an inch of body wash to the bottom of a foaming soap dispenser, fill the rest of the way with water, and you’ve got an inexpensive way for kids to have lots of foaming bubbles to wash with! Not only that, but it makes the body wash last longer too. I don’t have to be watching the girls as often to see how much soap they’re using and they can simply have fun, even if they’re just taking a quick shower before bedtime.
Here’s an even better reason to click on the links in this post to visit the “Wash Them Grow” sweepstakes site – along with the Sweepstakes prizes that you could win, the MomSelect blogger who drives the most traffic to the sweepstakes will also win a great prize – a year’s supply of Suave Kids® products and a $100 gift card to Build-A-Bear Workshop! But there’s not just something in it for me – the winning blogger will also get to choose 10 readers to win the same prize as well. Each time you click on the sweepstakes link in this post, you are making it possible for us all to win, and that’s something great for everyone!
Here’s the sweepstakes link again: “Wash Them Grow” – and don’t forget that you can enter daily until February 22nd. Good luck to all of us!
