Great Wolf Lodge Day #1 – in photos (and video)

It’s Sunday night and we’re back from our weekend get-away trip to Great Wolf Lodge in Traverse City, MI. It was a wonderful weekend in so many ways, both as a family vacation and as a blogger event and I have so much that I want to tell you all about the trip. But since it’s late and I have to get up early to get the kids all off to school, finish unpacking and try to get this house in somewhat decent shape after ignoring it for most of last week while I wasn’t feeling well… I thought I’d give you a pictorial tour instead for now. I took photos with all three of my cameras this weekend – the point-and-shoot, the fancier point-and-shoot with extra zoom capability, and my iPhone. Given that the lighting wasn’t always great and the girls were often moving quite quickly – some of the pictures (ok, many of them) are either grainy, blurry or both. I swore that I would never put my ‘good’ camera on the Auto setting, instead wanting to learn how to effectively use the manual controls for the ISO, aperture and shutter speed settings. This weekend though, I finally gave up and shot almost everything with that camera on Auto – only to end up with pictures that are still grainy and/or blurry.  Go figure.  I guess the lesson is that I’ll have to start saving for a DSLR at some point here.

Here are some of my favorites though – just from the first day since I haven’t even downloaded the rest from the camera yet. Nor have I had a chance to really do any kind of editing of these, so I apologize for the red-eye as well. Check back soon for the stories to follow.
