It’s summertime – which means that many families are packing up and taking off for destinations all over. One of the more popular destinations I’m sure, is Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. I can remember traveling there with my family when I was a kid, and we had such a fun time seeing the sights, riding the rides, and exploring every inch of the parks. My husband and I went back for our honeymoon eight years ago, and I know that we’ll take our girls there someday as well.

When we do go, I’ll be packing the most comfortable clothes that we have for the trip – since traveling is one time when comfort is definitely higher priority than fashion or style. Don’t Stress!
Approach your travel plans with confidence and realism. Be prepared and flexible – there are some things you can’t control, like traffic or delays. When your kids see your confidence, they’ll feel safe and be calm. In case I am stranded in a traffic jam or an airport, I pack “Boredom Bags” – bags filled with age-appropriate toys (books, electronic games, cards) and snacks to appease (and distract!) the kids.

Travel-Wear is Not Your Kids’ “Sunday Best.”
To ensure a fun start to our trips I start with comfort – a comfortable family is a happy family. Encourage your kids to layer up with tees and hoodies so they’re ready for any temperature, from air-conditioned airports to the car’s burning backseat.

Maximize Your Vacation!
Walt Disney World® Resort has enough fun for 10 vacations in one! Before arriving, decide on “must-do” adventures – visit Kilimanjaro Safaris® or catch the wave to Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, but also leave time for discovery and surprises – these make the best memories! My favorite insider tip: Disney’s FASTPASS® to avoid waiting at popular attractions in all four theme parks. Take a ticket with an assigned return time and experience the attraction later in the day with little or no wait.

These sound like great ideas to me – especially the “Boredom Bags”. I can see that being useful even when you’re not on vacation! And we’ll definitely have to take advantage of the Disney FASTPASS® when we take our family vacation there at some point.
